I wrote a post about this on Breaking Free (Covenant Eyes blog) a while back:

http://www.covenanteyes.com/blog/2008/10/24/faq-friday-should-my-wife-be-my-accountability-partner/

I think there are many pros and cons to this and it really does depend on the marital bond.

Personally I have someone who is my "confessor," my mentor that I bear my soul with and talk about all the nitty gritty of sin and temptations. My wife is not that person, especially when it comes to lust. However, I make it my aim to inform my wife of those confessing conversations with my mentor so that she has a general knowledge of what is going on and can trust that I am working through any struggles with a trusted older man. This system has been great for me and my wife.
